Let me start out by saying that I’m going to be somewhat more transparent this year than I have been in recent years. When I look back at my old blog, I kind of miss the conversations that happened when I was being transparent. And honestly, most of you know me IRL, so why not share a little more? I’ll try not to overshare, but the truth is that most of the habits I want to work on this year involve some kind of personal things. It would be pretty tough to write about them without transparency. If that kind of openness is off-putting, feel free to ignore these posts. I will not be offended in the slightest.

This year marks ten years since I officially started writing fiction again. It was November 2009 that I wrote the first draft of Ravenmarked during NaNoWriMo.

The Habits, Part 3

I’ve now spent two long posts complaining about everything around the whole idea of productivity, time management, and, most importantly, habits.

That’s enough of that. Time for some solutions.

Sometimes, moving forward requires going backward a bit and looking at where we’ve been. It’s kind of a way to get traction, I guess.

So I’m going to backtrack a bit and revisit old territory…

The Habits, Part 2

I’ll start this one with a confession: The biggest goal I have this year is to get more control over my time. Or maybe a better way to say it is to be more intentional about how I spend my time. In any case, I’m dealing with the time issues this year.

So yes, I’ve been reading those articles I mentioned in my last post and listening to podcasts and thinking a lot about how to at least feel a little more in charge of my own day. And yes, reading those articles and listening to those podcasts has put me in a bit of a funk, because honestly, there are issues with all of the approaches presented.
